Elementary educa named West Virginia teacher of the year

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A fifth-grade instructor from Raleigh County has been named West Virginia’s teacher of the year.

The state Department of Education says Jada Reeves of Bradley Elementary School in Mount Hope was recognized at a ceremony Wednesday night in Charleston.

Reeves was chosen from among five finalists. The other finalists included Adrin Fisher of Fairmont Senior High School and Summer McClintock of Pleasant View Elementary School. Clifford Sullivan of Mount Hope Elementary School and Joy Van Scyoc of Moundville Middle School also were finalists.
