Construction to begin on SR 198, UDOT studying new interchange in Springville/Spanish Fork
A big construction project will be starting next week affecting those who live in southern Utah County, and another large transportation project is in the process of being studied.
The Utah Department of Transportation will begin work to widen State Route 198 between Woodland Hills Drive and Arrowhead Trail Road in Spanish Fork and Salem — about a one-mile section of road. Construction for the $8.2 million project is anticipated to last throughout the summer, ending in the fall.
The project will widen the road, adding one lane in each direction, as well as build a new multi-use trail along the east side of the road for cyclists and pedestrians, which will be connected to existing trail systems.
