Plane lands on belly, causes delay
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A plane landed on its belly at a Maine airport without causing injuries or a fire.
The twin-engine plane landed without its landing gear at the Portland International Jetport Thursday morning.
A city spokeswoman said the airport will close its runways for one or two hours while workers remove the plane.
So far, eight flights have been delayed, diverted or canceled.
The Portland Press Herald reports the Federal Aviation Administration’s database shows the plane is registered to a small Waterville carrier.
