Jordan Covets Israel Manufacturers
JERUSALEM (AP) _ King Abdullah II of Jordan promised to urge Jordanian businesspeople to work more closely with their Israeli counterparts, the Manufacturers Association of Israel said Thursday in a release.
A group of Israeli manufacturers traveled to Jordan Thursday to meet with the king to discuss improving ties between the two business communities.
The king also pledged to help set up an Israeli-Jordanian business forum to encourage business ventures and help to remove obstacles to direct ties, the release said.
Abdullah also promised to sponsor a meeting between representatives of the Israeli and Jordanian high-tech sectors in the next few weeks, the release said.
