Suspect in deadly Randolph bar shooting pleads not guilty
QUINCY, Mass. (AP) — A 36-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to charges he fatally shot another man outside of a Randolph bar.
Gregory Wright, of Randolph, is being held without bail following his arraignment Wednesday in Quincy District Court on charges including murder.
Authorities say 23-year-old Scott Drake was shot five times outside the City Limits Saloon at about 1 a.m. Wednesday. He had just participated in the bar’s open mic event.
Prosecutors said in court the motive for the shooting remains unclear. They say there was no known interaction between the men inside the bar and it’s unclear if they knew each other.
Wright was quickly apprehended after the shooting. Police also recovered a gun.
Wright’s attorney said he could not comment because he had not seen the evidence in the case.
