Lutheran High Northeast football wins first eight-man game since 2003 gets ready for Omaha Nation
The Lincoln Journal Star third ranked in Class ‘D-1’ Lutheran High Northeast football team opened their 2018 campaign with a 64-26 home rout of Winnebago last Friday afternoon at Norfolk’s Veterans Memorial Field.
It was the Eagles’ first time playing eight-man football in Class ‘D-1’ since 2003. Jaxson Kant accounted for six touchdowns. He threw for 132 yards off 18 carries and three scores. Kant ran for two touchdowns and also had an interception return for a score. Lutheran High Northeast as a team ran for 332 yards off 39 carries. The Eagles return to action on Friday at 6:00 when they visit 0-2 Omaha Nation. The Chiefs lost last Friday at Madison 69-14.
