All-Swiss Final in Marseille Open
MARSEILLE, France (AP)_ Marc Rosset beat Fabrice Santoro 7-6 (4), 7-5 Saturday, and Roger Federer defeated Sebastien Grosjean 6-3, 6-3 to create an all-Swiss final at the Marseille Open.
Rosset, an unseeded 29-year-old, has won five of his 13 ATP titles on French soil.
``Roger’s a friend of mine and a guy I appreciate,″ Rosset said. ``Matches between people from the same country are rarely great. He’ll be nervous tomorrow because it’s his first final and me too. He’s a young kid still wet behind the ears and I’d like to show him I’m still around.″
Federer, an 18-year-old rising star, is on the verge of accomplishing his objection for this season.
``I set as a goal winning my first ATP title this year,″ Federer said. ``And now I have the chance to do it early in the year. Marc and me are good friends. He often gives me advice on opponents. But I don’t expect any for tomorrow.″
