Authorities question Mississippi Delta teen after shooting
GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) — Officials are questioning a Mississippi Delta teenager in connection with a Saturday fatal shooting.
The Greenwood Commonwealth reported Tuesday that Leflore County authorities picked up the 18-year-old suspect following a nighttime shooting at Brazil Homes. The suspect has not been charged and is being held at the sheriff’s department.
The victim, 15-year-old Robert Love Jr., was killed by multiple gunshot wounds around 6:15 p.m. Saturday. His death was the third homicide in Leflore County so far this year.
Authorities believe the three homicides are connected in an ongoing turf war between two rival factions.
Love was one of six arrested and charged after a December shooting of a Greenwood Country Club employee. He was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.
