Albion man flees courthouse, evades police

January 26, 2019

Multiple law enforcement agencies searched downtown Albion for a Noble County man who fled the courthouse Friday morning after appearing in court on a warrant.

Zachary Centers, 27, of Albion was charged Jan. 1 with a misdemeanor for invasion of privacy, according to court records. He appeared Friday on a warrant, but after evading sheriff’s officers and fleeing the Noble County Courthouse on foot, he faces additional charges of resisting law enforcement, according to a news release from the Noble County Sheriff’s Department.

Centers ran out of the courthouse around 10 a.m., heading downstairs and leaving before court security could catch him, the release said.

“Centers fled on foot in the Albion downtown area with units from multiple agencies attempting to locate him,” the release said. The search was eventually called off.
