PSC to hold public comment hearings on rate cases

CHARLESTON — The Public Service Commission will offer public comment hearings next month on the pending Appalachian Power Co. and West Virginia American Water Co. rate cases.

Locally, the WVAWC public comment hearing will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 on the second floor of the Cabell County Courthouse, 750 5th Ave., Huntington.

An evidentiary hearing on this matter is set for Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 at the Public Service Commission Office in Charleston.

West Virginia American Water Co. has requested a $32.69 million, or approximately 24.04 percent, increase in annual revenue for its water customers and a $218,087, or approximately 23.94 percent, annual increase for its sewer customers. Locally, the Appalachian Power Co. public comment hearing will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 on the second floor of the Cabell County Courthouse, 750 5th Ave., Huntington.

An evidentiary hearing on this matter is set for Nov. 13-16 at the Public Service Commission Office in Charleston.

Appalachian Power/Wheeling Power Co. has requested a $114.58 million, or approximately 7.85 percent, increase in annual revenue for its customers. It has also requested a revision in its depreciation rates.
