Worker killed in Volk Field accident identified
CAMP DOUGLAS, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs has released the name of a state employee killed in an accident at the Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center at Camp Douglas.
Officials say 40-year-old Nicholas Janz was a facility maintenance specialist at Volk Field. Janz died while performing his duties at the Air National Guard base on Monday.
Janz was pronounced dead by a Tomah Memorial medical control officer around 11 a.m.
The Department of Military Affairs says it is working with local and state officials to review details of the accident.
Janz had been employed at the Department of Military Affairs since 2010. He lived in Warrens, Wisconsin, with his wife and three children.
