EWING, N.J. (AP) _ Church & Dwight Co. (CHD) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $121.7 million.

The Ewing, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 49 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.

The maker of household and personal products posted revenue of $1.03 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Nine analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1 billion.

Church & Dwight expects full-year earnings to be $2.26 to $2.28 per share.

Church & Dwight shares have increased roughly 10 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 4 percent in the last 12 months.
