Fairview Elementary Evacuated Over Alleged Bomb Threat

November 10, 2018

The Crestwood School District evacuated Fairview Elementary School on Friday afternoon after the discovery of a note in a student lavatory making a bomb threat, acting Superintendent Joseph Rasmus said in a phone message to parents. The district administration contacted 911 and “implemented evacuation protocols in the most expedient manner to ensure the safety and welfare of all students, faculty and staff,” Rasmus said. Fairview students went to the Crestwood Secondary Campus in Wright Twp. and were dismissed to their regularly assigned buses to “arrive home in a manner consistent with a typical school day,” Rasmus said. Law enforcement determined the building was safe. — MICHAEL P. BUFFER
