Stratford woman found dead in New Hampshire parking lot
STRATFORD — Melanie M. Ordner, a 55-year old Stratford resident, was found dead in a vehicle in a New Hampshire store parking lot on Thursday, state police there said.
Around 4:40 p.m. Thursday, troopers from Troop A in New Hampshire responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the southbound State Liquor Store parking lot along Interstate 95 in Hampton, N.H., state police said.
When they arrived, state police said, troopers found Ordner dead in the vehicle.
“A preliminary investigation suggests that Ordner suffered a medical emergency prior to police arrival,” New Hampshire State Police said in a news release. “She was the lone occupant of the vehicle.”
The circumstances still remain under investigation by New Hampshire State Police Detective Sgt. John Kelly. Anyone with information about her death has been asked to contact Kelly at 603-679-3333.
Online records list a Judith Terrace address in Stratford as Ordner’s residence.
Records indicate Ordner and her husband, William, owned Two-Fold Laundry on Boston Avenue in Stratford. The business began in May 1996 and was dissolved in 2004, records show.
Ordner was also listed on public records as the treasurer of Exclusively Yours Gift Shoppe on Rosebrook Drive in Stratford. Records show the business opened in February 1981 and was dissolved in 2010.
Hampton, N.H., is in the lower right corner of the state and is known as a summer tourist destination. The Rockingham County town is nearly 200 miles from Ordner’s listed address in Stratford.
