KAMEG raid nets weapons
KANKAKEE — Nickolas A. Skaggs, of Kankakee, was arrested by Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group agents on weapons charges on Friday.
According to a release, the 29-year-old Skaggs was charged with unlawful possession by a felon, unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon and for no FOID card.
Agents served a search warrant at 653 E. River St., Apt. 1, in Kankakee. They seized two shotguns, a handgun and ammunition.
KAMEG Director Christopher Koerner said agents have seized 56 weapons this year. In 2017, KAMEG seized 71 weapons.
“By taking these weapons off the streets, we are, hopefully, making our communities safer. This has been a unified effort among all law enforcement agencies in Kankakee County,” Koerner said.
