Stray bullet hits university cafeteria twice in 3 weeks
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Police say a building located on the campus of a western Massachusetts college was struck by a stray bullet for the second time in about three weeks.
The Republican of Springfield reports (http://bit.ly/1K45fnY ) the “Hive,” American International College’s student cafeteria located in the Schwartz Campus Center, was hit by a stray bullet stemming from a shooting near the corner of State Street and Oak Grove Avenue Tuesday night.
Students and staff received text messages from the school alerting them about the shooting. No injuries were reported.
It’s unclear whether the incident is connected to previous shootings near the school. A recent shooting resulted in a stray bullet shattering a window of the student cafeteria.
