German Veteran Katja Seizinger Wins Giant Slalom
MARIBOR, Slovenia (AP) _ Katja Seizinger of Germany skied a perfect second run to come from behind and win a World Cup giant slalom today.
The victory was the second of the season for Seizinger and the 19th of her six-year career.
The 23-year-old completed two runs with a time of 2 minutes, 14.30 seconds.
Switzerland’s Sonja Nef had her best ever career finish, taking second place, 68 hundredth behind Seizinger, with a total time of 2:14.98.
Seizinger’s teammate Martina Ertl, winner of the three previous giant slalom races this season, was third with a time of 2:15.01, but held onto her lead in the World Cup overall and giant slalom standings.
