Bill OKs training for missing, slain Native American cases
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Legislature has passed a bill that would require more law enforcement training related to missing and slain Native Americans.
Senators unanimously approved the House bill on Friday. The measure now goes to Gov. Doug Burgum.
The measure was sponsored by Fargo Democratic Rep. Ruth Buffalo. She is the first female Native American Democrat elected to the state Legislature.
