Correctly installed child safety seats save lives

September 22, 2018

HARLINGEN — Help protect you precious cargo by making sure your children are buckled up in their car seats and boosters correctly.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, two out of three safety seats are not used correctly and car crashes are a leading cause of death for children ages one to 13.

This is why it’s extremely important to correctly choose and use the right car seat every time your child is in the car.

The Travel Information Center in Harlingen will be offering free child safety seat checks on Tuesday, Sept. 25 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Parents and guardians need to bring their child and know their height and weight.

To schedule an appointment, call Letty Jasso at (956) 421-5582.
