Pontotoc voters deciding on $11.75 M school bond issue
PONTOTOC, Miss. (AP) — Voters in one Mississippi city are deciding whether to issue bonds for renovations on school campuses and improvements to a football stadium.
The $11.75 million bond proposal is on the ballot Tuesday in Pontotoc. It must receive at least 60 percent support to pass.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports the proposal includes $2.5 million to upgrade the Pontotoc High School Warrior Football Stadium.
Elementary schools would receive new heating and air conditioning systems. One would get restroom renovations and electrical upgrades.
Pontotoc Middle School would get new classrooms and computer labs. A gym would be renovated at Pontotoc Junior High.
The high school would get a more secure front entrance and new bleachers in the gym.
