RV fire reported at Havasu RV Resort
One Lake Havasu City resident was hospitalized Friday afternoon after a fire at Havasu RV Resort. It was the second such incident within about 12 hours.
The most recent fire began at about 1 p.m., on the 1900 block of Victoria Farms Road. Residents say the recreational vehicle was occupied by its female owner when it caught fire, prompting a neighbor knock on the vehicle’s door and warn her. That neighbor was injured in the blaze, according to Lake Havasu City Fire Captain Aaron Bracamonte, and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
No additional injuries were reported, Bracamonte said, but one of the occupant’s pets was unable to escape the vehicle. According to fire officials, the trailer was damaged beyond repair in the fire. An adjacent structure was also damaged.
The incident follows another recreational vehicle fire Friday on Mohican Drive, which began at almost 1 a.m. That fire resulted in a complete loss of the affected RV, and resulted in significant damage to its owner’s nearby residence.
The cause of both fires remains under investigation, and no indication has been given by fire officials that the incidents are connected.
