NORFOLK — The Norfolk Police Division conducts monthly checks on sex offenders and verifies their address.
During one of these monthly checks, it was learned that Vernon S. Munson, 48, Norfolk, was no longer living at his registered address, said Capt. Mike Bauer of the Norfolk Police Division.
During the subsequent investigation, officers determined where he was currently living and that he had been residing at that address for over three weeks.
By Nebraska law, a registered sex offender must report a change in their address, to the local sheriff’s office, three days prior to moving. Officers located Munson and placed him under arrest for sex offender registry violation.
He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail.
