New Haven extends leaf pickup
New Haven is extending its leaf pickup until the end of the year, weather permitting, the community announced today.
Leaves must be raked onto the park strip between the sidewalk and curb, and away from street signs, poles, mailboxes and parked cars, New Haven said in a statement. Bagged leaves will not be accepted.
It said leaves that are picked up are recycled into compost, which is available free to the public at the Utility Complex, 2201 Summit St.
