Name of man found dead in field released
LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a man found dead in a Pennsylvania field over the weekend, but they haven’t yet determined how he died.
The Lancaster County coroner’s office said 48-year-old Ronel Villanueva-Mejias was the person found Saturday morning in the field in Pequea Township.
An autopsy Monday revealed no visible signs of trauma or injury, and investigators are waiting for toxicology test results to determine the cause and manner of death.
The Lancaster County district attorney’s office has said that “preliminary information indicates the man was transported in a vehicle to the location where he was found.”
Prosecutors say they are seeking information on any vehicles or people seen in the area Friday night or early Saturday.
