DaVita HealthCare: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
DENVER (AP) _ DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (DVA) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $273.6 million.
The Denver-based company said it had net income of $1.64 per share. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, came to $1.22 per share.
The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.10 per share.
The kidney dialysis provider posted revenue of $2.84 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.85 billion.
DaVita HealthCare shares have increased 15% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 18%. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $59.30, a fall of 16% in the last 12 months.
