Mike DeWine, Richard Cordray agree to series of three gubernatorial debates

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Republican Mike DeWine and Democrat Richard Cordray announced on Friday a series of three debates around the state, including one in Cleveland.

DeWine, the state’s attorney general, and Cordray, the former director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, are both aiming to succeed term-limited GOP Gov. John Kasich. The announcement that they’ll debate marks the first time the governor candidates will take the stage together since 2010.

DeWine and Cordray will square off in a series of three contests, one in Dayton, on in Marietta and one in Cleveland. The debate in Cleveland will be hosted by the Ohio Debate Commission.
