Two Free Agents Sign With Packers
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) _ Offensive lineman Doug Karczewski and linebacker Kevin Johnson, both free agents, agreed to contracts with the Green Bay Packers.
The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Karczewski was a fifth-round draft pick of the New York Jets out of Virginia in 1998 but saw no playing time with the Jets. He was on Green Bay’s practice squad for the second half of last season.
The 6-foot, 225-pound Johnson played for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League last year. He was signed by Atlanta as an undrafted free agent in April 1998 but was released by the Falcons two months later.
