UNDATED (AP) — Miami’s Erik Spoelstra (SPOHL’-struh) and Houston’s Mike D’Antoni (dan-TOH’-nee) are the co-winners of the National Basketball Coaches Association’s coach of the year award. The inaugural award is decided in a vote by the league’s 30 head coaches. Other coaches who received votes from their peers were Washington’s Scott Brooks, Memphis’ David Fizdale, Golden State’s Steve Kerr, Milwaukee’s Jason Kidd, San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Doc Rivers and Utah’s Quin Snyder.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has had a spinal cord leak procedure on his back and remains out indefinitely. Owner Joe Lacob updated Kerr’s condition during an interview with Bloomberg Radio. Kerr didn’t travel to Salt Lake City for the Warriors’ 102-01 victory over the Utah Jazz last night that gave Golden State a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference second-round series. He saw a specialist at Duke University on Friday.

UNDATED (AP) — The New York Mets have scratched Matt Harvey for his scheduled start today against the Miami Marlins and suspended the right-hander three days for a violation of team rules. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson wouldn’t disclose Harvey’s violation. Left-hander Adam Wilk has been called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to start in Harvey’s place.
