Two in hospital, police investigating, after Boise bench shooting
Two people are in the hospital Thursday morning after police say they were shot in the Boise bench.
Officers responded just before 6 a.m. to the 900 block of S. Phillippi Street in Boise, according to a Boise Police Department statement on Twitter. Officers are still “working to identify a suspect,” according to the Tweet, and the investigation remains ongoing. Phillippi Street is closed south of Cassia Street, according to the statement.
Police were still in the area by about 9:15 a.m. Thursday, with police tape stretched across S. Phillipi Street. Police vehicles stood silent on the windswept street with lights flashing. One resident said they’d been there since the early morning, and said his wife heard the gunshot about 6 a.m.
It was an anomaly for the quiet neighborhood, he said.
This is a developing story. It will be updated later.
