Service Restored After Water Main Break In W-B

November 19, 2018

WILKES-BARRE — A water main break between Blackman and Division streets has been repaired and service has been restored, according to Pennsylvania-American Water Company. Traffic had been disrupted in the area earlier today, as roads near the work site were closed, according to Damian Lendacky, assistant city fire chief. The break in the small diameter water main was reported at about 10 a.m. today and affected about 10 customers, according to water company spokeswoman Susan Turcmanovich. Repairs were completed and service was restored at about 7:30 p.m., she said. The water main was 4 inches in diameter, according to Turcmanovich. It was likely about 100 years old, Lendacky said. — ERIC MARK
