WVC LACROSSE ROUNDUP: Kilyanek Leads Sems Over Pittston Area

At Pittston Area, Christina Kilyanek’s six goals gave the Blue Knights (3-2, 3-0 WVC) plenty of room to coast to their third consecutive victory, an 18-1 win over Pittston on Thursday.

Kilyanek put away a half-dozen goals for the second time in three games. Grace Parsons scored three goals and had two assists for Sem. Ashley Metz, Paige Parsons and Jordan Stefanowicz all added a pair of goals.

Lily Savoy had the lone goal for Pittston Area (0-3, 0-3).

At Delaware Valley, Bailey Fedun’s seven goals tied the single-game high throughout the league this season as her Warriors (3-2, 2-0 WVC) won.

Skyler Padgett added four goals for Del Val.

Kaylee Moran found the net three times, and Sophia Novrocki scored twice for Crestwood (0-4, 0-1).

At Scranton Prep, Cassidy Orzel score four goals to lead the Warriors in a narrow win over the Classics.

Emma Kelleher added three goals and Makenzie Switzer two for the Warriors ( ). Mary Kate O’Brien made 14 saves to help seal the win.

Kerry McGrath scored four for Scranton Prep with Katie Malone tallying two.

At North Pocono, Yesmarlyn Diaz and Riley Hudock had four-goal games as the Cougars (1-1, 1-0 WVC) started their league season with a win.

Alexis Bohman scored twice for Hazleton Area.

Jordyn McDonough and Kendra Jordan finished with two goals apiece, one in each half, for North Pocono (0-2, 0-2).

Boys Lacrosse

At Coughlin, Aiden Brown and Isaiah Simon both finished with two goals and an assist as Tunkhannock won its first game of the season, 9-3, in Wyoming Valley Conference boys lacrosse Thursday.

The Tigers (1-1, 1-1 WVC) also received goals from Jaxson Montross, Jack Hawley, Joe Casey, Mike Sickler and Trae Colo.

Brandon Kelley scored twice, and Matt Egidio had the other goal for Coughlin (0-3, 0-3).

At Wyoming Seminary, the Blue Knights (3-2) overcame a 2-goal deficit at halftime to win their third game in a row in non-conference action, beating Lewisburg 8-5. Ryan Anderson scored half of Sem’s goals with four, and K.C. Medico added two. Trey Leo and Cooper Wood also scored.
