WESTCONN ROUNDUP Women’s soccer wins fourth straight
The WestConn women’s soccer team has hit their stride in recent games, as a 4-1 win over Manhattanville meant a fourth straight win for Alex Harrison’s squad.
Aileen Maloney, Courtney Bravo, Ashely Cross and Kaleigh Panek all scored for the Colonials, who took a lead less than two minutes into the match. The advantage was 3-0 by halftime and WestConn evened its record at 6-6 this fall.
Samantha Camacho earned the win in goal with six saves.
The Colonials edged UMass-Dartmouth 1-0 on Tuesday as Carly Matasavage netted the lone goal 11:38 into the second half.
WestConn improved to 7-4 (5-2 LEC) with the win. Goalie Neve Manion had to make just two saves in the win.
The Colonials overcame an early deficit to top John Jay 2-1 at home and extend their winning run to three matches.
Robert Della Penna and Chauncey Allers scored second-half goals for WestConn; Della Penna scored with 10 minutes on a pass from Mikey Sciortino. WestConn is now 8-2-2.
