HOLLAND, Mich. (AP) _ A high school athlete was hospitalized after being struck in the head by a discus at a meet.
Stephanie Allen of West Ottawa High School was listed in fair condition Friday at Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids, a hospital spokesperson said.
Stephanie was walking outside the landing area for discus throwers when she was hit Thursday.
Ottawa County sheriff’s Deputy Randy Dykema revived Stephanie before she was taken to the hospital.
``She was unconscious for about a minute, but when I got here, she was conscious and talking,″ Deputy Cal Keuning told The Holland Sentinel.
