15 People Killed in Turkey Floods

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) _ Floods and lightning caused by summer storms have killed at least 15 people in Turkey, officials and news reports said Wednesday. Two other people were missing.
All of the deaths occurred Tuesday and Wednesday. Turkish television showed rescuers wading through knee-high flood waters in the Black Sea city of Rize, where five people were killed and two others were missing.
In the central town of Corum, some 150 miles from the capital, Ankara, storms snapped minarets off three mosques. In neighboring Yozgat _ where a family of five died _ waters swept away cars and animals.
Lightning killed five other people in central and northwestern Turkey, the daily Milliyet reported.
