WRMC offers new urgent care service

Urgent care patients of Watertown Regional Medical Center can now skip the waiting room by reserving a spot in line ahead of time.

After patients make a reservation online, they can wait for their scheduled time to see the provider in their home, office or wherever they are. They will receive a text message reminder 30 minutes before the scheduled time. If a provider is behind, they will also receive a notification. The new service also features the current wait time for walk-ins.

Patients can reserve a spot same-day. Once they pick a time, urgent care gets a notification and the patient wait time is automatically updated.

“A simple text reminder not only helps manage patients’ expectations; it gives them the information they desire,” said Leanne Seifert, urgent care manager. “We believe this technology is what our community is looking for to access urgent care at a time that is convenient for them.”
