Estranged husband of missing teacher arrested

NEW YORK (AP) — The estranged husband of a Staten Island teacher reported missing since Saturday night has been taken into custody.

Police say Jeanine Cammarata was last seen on Staten Island Saturday night. The 37-year-old mother of three was reported missing after she failed to show up for work this week. She’s a teacher at P.S. 29.

Police confirmed on Wednesday that her estranged husband, Michael Cammarata, has been arrested on assault, harassment and stalking charges. Information on his lawyer wasn’t immediately available.

Police say the charges are not connected to his wife’s disappearance.
