Three charged with financial crime on Greenwich Ave.

GREENWICH — Three men were arrested in an attempt to deposit and then cash a fraudulent check on Greenwich Avenue Friday evening.

Police said Brent Watson, 25, of the Grand Concourse, the Bronx, N.Y., entered the Chase bank with a fraudulent check. Bank personnel determined that he was not the actual account holder, and police were called. Two other alleged accomplices were also detained in a nearby vehicle and arrested.

Watson was charged with criminal attempt at larceny, identity theft and forgery. He was released without bail.

The alleged accomplices were Siaka Traore, 21, of Rochester Ave., Brooklyn; and Miguel Guzman-Richards, 22, of the Grand Concourse, the Bronx, and they were charged with conspiracy to commit larceny, conspiracy to commit identity theft and conspiracy to commit forgery.

Bail was set at $1,000 for Guzman-Richards, $2,500 for Traore.

The two were also charged with marijuana possession.
