AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) _ Mike Hammond, who was ejected late in the game along with three other players, threw in 22 points in leading Air Force to an 89-68 college basketball victory over U.S. International Tuesday night.
With just over nine minutes left to play, Hammond and Air Force teammate Mike Lockwood got into a fight with USIU’s Matt Judd and Russ Heicke. All four were thrown out of the game.
Air Force, 6-4, led at the half 36-33, and built the lead to as many as 23 points several times in the second half. The Falcons’ Rob Marr was held scoreless in the first half, but came back with 16 points in the second half.
Heicke and Steve Smith each had 22 points for USIU, 6-11.
