MILFORD, Del. (AP) — A school bus driver is accused of closing all the windows and air vents to try to quiet children between the ages of 6 and 11.

The Delaware State News reports 54-year-old Teresa A. Grunden was arrested Wednesday in connection with the May 31 afterschool route. She has pleaded not guilty to six misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and was given a no-contact order with the children on that bus.

According to the probable cause affidavit, several children came home nauseated and with other heat-related symptoms. The affidavit said a number of parents "voiced concerns over the temperament of the driver and how she negatively interacts with students."

Grunden was contracted by RTK Transportation, whom the newspaper couldn't reach.

It's unclear whether Grunden has a lawyer.
