Visitation for Bonnie E. Lamore Hamann, of rural Grant Park, will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Hub Funeral Home in Grant Park. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Grant Park, with the Rev. Kyle Timmons officiating. Burial will be in Heusing Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ or Hospice of Kankakee Valley.

Bonnie was born April 10, 1921, the daughter of Noah and Beulah Lamore. She married Robert D. Hamann on Sept. 20, 1941, at her home. Robert preceded her in death Jan. 26, 2012.

She was an active member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, and participated on the Women’s Guild and Shepard Committee. Bonnie volunteered at Grant Park Elementary School and also enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. Faith, family and friends were Bonnie’s motto for her longevity.

Surviving are her three children, Larry (Gail) Hamann, Ron (Erin) Hamann, and Sharilyn (Lawrence) Ohm. Bonnie had 9 grandchildren, Lori (Guy) Burrell, Jayne (Eric) Frahm, Jim (Dornita) Hamann, Keith (Heather) Ohm, Ryan (Debbie) Ohm, Trenton (Elisabeth) Ohm, Andrew (Nicole) Hamann, Krysta (Mark) Farina, and Mitchell Weakley. Bonnie also leaves 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as her friend and caregiver, Anna Peter.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Kay Hamann; and brothers, Norman (Beatrice) and Benson (Mildred) Lamore.

Her family, church, friends and baking filled her life with love a joy.

Funeral arrangements are by Hub Funeral Home in Grant Park.
