Italy’s Blasbichler Wins Again in Luge
MOSCOW (AP) _ Italy’s Anton Blasbichler won his fourth straight luge race Friday to remain perfect in the World Cup standings after four races.
Blasbichler, the 2001 world champion, was followed by Austrians Gerald Kallan and Gernot Schwab. Austrians took six of the top 10 spots.
Blasbichler posted a combined time of 1 minute, 15.98 seconds. He leads the overall standings with 400 points after four of six World Cup meets.
Kallan was timed in 1:16.05 to move to third in the standings with 247 points. Schwab was next at 1:16.06 and is second overall, 110 points behind Blasbichler.
Austria’s Robert Batkowski, the 2003 world champion and World Cup winner, has yet to win this season. He was seventh Friday, improving to fifth overall.
