Sacred Heart’s Lillis places third at Canterbury Invitational
Sacred Heart Greenwich sophomore Grace Lillis finished third overall in the 5,000-meter race Canterbury Cross Country Invitational Saturday in New Milford.
Lillis, a sophomore, registered a third-place time of 19 minutes, 15 seconds in the race for the Tigers, who competed in the girls Division I competition at the meet.
Lillis’ time in the race was a Sacred Heart record in a 5,000-meter event. Ursula Vollmer, a sophomore, was 36th in 22:35, while Cecilia Duncan, also a sophomore, clocked in at 23:09. Senior Gabby Davitch ran a 23:34, while junior Elisa Howard posted a time of 23:36 for the Tigers, who placed eighth out of 12 teams in the girls Division I standings.
Greenwich Academy also competed in the Canterbury Invitational. Elena Tan was the Gators’ top runner, posting a time of 22:00 (25th overall). Kate Anderson finished the race in 22:26 and Julia Howe had a time of 22:57.
