Hogg set to miss autumn tests
EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) — Scotland is likely to be without one of its few star players for the team’s autumn internationals against Japan, South Africa and Australia after fullback Stuart Hogg was forced to undergo surgery on an injured wrist.
Hogg, who toured Australia with the British and Irish Lions this summer, required the operation after sustaining the injury for Glasgow in a club game against Leinster three weeks ago.
Interim Scotland coach Scott Johnson said Friday: “Are we counting Hoggy out of the autumn tests? Yeah, probably.”
After hosting Japan on Nov. 9, Scotland takes on the Springboks on Nov. 17 and Australia on Nov. 23.
The pacey Hogg was arguably Scotland’s top performer in this year’s Six Nations.
