Nordiques 4, Canadiens 3
QUEBEC (AP) _ Valeri Kamensky’s shorthanded goal 1:31 into overtime gave the Quebec Nordiques a 4-3 exhibition victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Friday night.
Mats Sundin tried to jam the puck in at the side of the net and Kamensky followed in to poke it behind goaltender Patrick Roy, who protested to referee Ron Hoggarth that he had frozen the puck.
Jean-Jacques Daigneault forced overtime when he scored from the slot with 2:52 left in regulation.
Joe Sakic, Mikhail Tatarinov and Mike Ricci also scored for Quebec, which remained unbeaten at home in the pre-eason with an overall record of 5-3-0.
Patrick Kjellberg and Denis Savard had the other goals for Montreal (4-3-1).
Montreal outshot Quebec 37-28 before a sellout crowd of 15,399.
Sakic, with his 11th goal in seven exhibition games, scored on breakaway 15:39 into the game. Kjellberg tied it at 17:11, batting in a rebound after goaltender Ron Hextall had made two fine saves.
Savard finished off a 2-on-1 shorthanded break to put Montral ahead at 18:12.
A penalty to Todd Ewen had just ended when Tatarinov scored on a high shot 2:40 into the second period and Ricci put the Nordiques ahead when he scored off a scramble at 4:28.
