South Aiken High sends out robocall Friday after rumors cause worry among parents

November 17, 2018

South Aiken High School sent out a robocall message to parents Friday afternoon concerning inaccurate and misleading reports on social media.

The message sent to parents reads, “South Aiken High School is fielding questions from concerned parents and community members related to an inaccurate and misleading report on social media. Students and parents, please be advised that there is no report or investigation underway involving a weapon on our school campus. We are committed to open communication with our school community, as well as ensuring the safety of all students and staff. Thank you to those that shared the social media activity with our administration.”

The reports of information on social media are just rumors at this time, according to the school.

This message comes following an incident earlier this week involving a 6-year-old caught with a loaded gun at Chukker Creek Elementary.
