Joshua Johnson Wins 100 in Greece
THESSALONIKI, Greece (AP) _ American Joshua Johnson won the 100 and 200 meters at the IAAF Grand Prix II meet Sunday.
Johnson used a late burst to finish the 100 in 10.15 seconds and hold off Nigerian Uchenna Emedolu, who was second in 10.17.
``I started slow, but had to pick up my speed at the end,″ Johnson said.
Johnson won the 200 in 20.21 as Americans took the top three spots. Ramon Clay was second in 20.48 and Shawn Crawford was third in 20.58.
American Demetria Washington won the women’s 400 in 51.46, while countrywoman Monique Hennagan was second and Ronetta Smith of Jamaica was third.
In other events, Jamaica’s Kemel Thompson won the 400 hurdles in 48.50 and Ukraine’s Anzhela Kravchenko won the women’s 100 in 11.31.
