Woodlands Chamber of Commerce welcomes new members
The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed its new members Tuesday night, Aug. 21, at a baseball-themed soireé at the Homewood Suites hotel in Shenandoah.
Guests and chamber members feasted on ballpark bites, including hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack and Goode Company pecan pie bites as they got to know their new organization and other business leaders.
“This event is an opportunity for the new members that have recently joined to come in, give a commercial and get acclimated to what the chamber has to offer,” Chamber member Ken Skadal said “It’s kind of like a big welcome to the chamber.”
With upwards of 1,000 members in dozens of industries, the The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce is one of the biggest in southeast Texas and opens its membership to companies all over greater Houston, CEO J.J. Hollie said. It works closely with the Economic Development Partnership to promote The Woodlands and attract new businesses to the township.
Tuesday’s event also served to facilitate networking between new and old members and to help bridge the gap between consumers and companies.
Several of the new members were on hand to give commercials, or short presentations on their businesses and what customers can expect to see if they use their services.
Members making their debut in the chamber’s expansive Rolodex on Tuesday included the All Nations Community School, realty company EverSan Cooper, woman-owned Next Level Urgent Care, The Woodlands Pride, Complete Nurse Solutions, State Farm, Gallant Financial and several others.
“The chamber can’t run without members,” Skadal said. “So this is also a big thank you to our members.”
