Federal Signal: 2Q Earnings Snapshot

OAK BROOK, Ill. (AP) _ Federal Signal Corp. (FSS) on Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $26.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said it had net income of 44 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 45 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 32 cents per share.

The company that makes products ranging from street sweepers to toll booth technology for government, industrial and commercial customers posted revenue of $291 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $271.8 million.

Federal Signal expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.26 to $1.32 per share.

Federal Signal shares have increased 19 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 29 percent in the last 12 months.
