DeKalb County Community Foundation grants $198K to 29 local organizations

SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County Community Foundation announced the distribution of $198,307 in Community Needs Grants this fall, according to a news release.

The grants, which are meant to benefit community residents by enhancing the quality of life in DeKalb County, were awarded to 29 organizations, including:

• Adventure Works of DeKalb County, Inc. - $15,750

• Bethany First Step Preschool - $1,600

• Children’s Home + Aid - $4,500

• City of Genoa - $4,500

• Consumer Advocacy Council of DeKalb County - $1,600

• Cornerstone Christian Academy - $9,035

• Cortland Community Library - $3,100

• Ben Gordon Center - $5,500

• DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office - $20,000

• DeKalb County Youth Service Bureau (YSB) - $4,000

• DeKalb Public Library - $1,200

• Elder Care Services of DeKalb County - $7,500

• Ellwood House Association - $50,000 over two years

• Farmworker and Landscaper Advocacy Project - $3,000

• Fox Valley Older Adult Services - $10,000

• Genoa-Kingston Volunteer Fire - $5,277

• Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois - $1,500

• Greater Elgin Family Care Center - $4,500

• Hinckley Historical Society - $10,000

• Northern Public Radio - $12,500

• Oaken Acres Wildlife Center - $12,000

• RAMP - $2,650

• Sandwich Park District - $5,000

• Sandwich Public Library District - $11,000

• Shabbona-Lee-Rollo Historical Museum - $1,200

• Somonauk Public Library District - $3,000

• TAILS Humane Society - $2,000

• The Gracie Center - $1,395

• The Housing Authority of the County of DeKalb - $10,000
