Injured Dusautoir and Guitoune to miss Six Nations
PARIS (AP) — France will be without captain Thierry Dusautoir and promising winger Sofiane Guitoune for the upcoming Six Nations championship.
Dusautoir, the former World Player of the Year, sustained a torn bicep playing for Toulouse in the Heineken Cup on Saturday. The flanker, who has played 65 times for France, is expected to be out for up to four months.
France coach Philippe Saint-Andre has called up the uncapped Virgile Bruni to replace him in the pre-tournament squad, while lock Pascal Pape is captain.
Guitoune has an ankle injury and has been replaced by Jean-Marcellin Buttin.
Saint-Andre says “these absences are a double blow for us. Thierry had come back to his best level and had an important role as a leader in this group.”
